Felicia Pride

Felicia Pride is the founder of Pride Collaborative, a boutique media and communications firm that recently codeveloped the educational component for the PBS documentary Slavery by Another Name. Her firm is currently managing a national content-based HIV/AIDS advocacy campaign aimed at college students and working with AaFFRM and Participant Media to develop community engagement content for the critically acclaimed feature film Middle of Nowhere. She’s also the founder of The Create Daily, a service that connects creators, media makers and storytellers with diverse career opportunities.

Felicia is the author of seven books, and her latest, The Message: Life Lessons from Hip-Hop’s Greatest Songs and an accompanying educator’s guide were recently released by NBC Publishing. In conjunction, she also launched The Message Project, a multimedia initiative aimed at encouraging young people to amplify their messages through content creation, storytelling, and media making. Currently a Hip-Hop Education Fellow at New York University, Felicia has riffed on education, media, entrepreneurship, youth development, and popular culture at schools, institutions, and events around the country.
